  1. What’s your “expected arrival date”? Or do you even have one? We could definitely meet up in the Pacific Northwest. Milli would love some friends (maybe a sleepover?)!

We will be in Portland first week of June for Chris Guillebeau’s WDS. Then Seattle, then Vancouver. Surely we can meet up with you somewhere around there.

We are coming the opposite way (up the coast), so we’ll have to cross paths somewhere!

    • Courtney that would be great! I think we’ll be Vancouver, then Seattle and then Portland in June, so I’ll be in touch, we’d love to meet up, and it looks like we’ll definitely be crossing paths!

  2. I live on Vancouver Island and it’s worth the ferry ride over on the way through Vancouver if you get a chance. Just curious if you could email me privately what type of budget you guys are working with? We are in the process of buying a motor home and would LOVE to do an adventure like this but don’t even know where to start.
    Shelby recently posted..Girls Night

  3. Since you are heading south of the border, you might need to find a place to bunk in for a night or two if you choose to pass through Colombia….

  4. Are you all coming thru south Texas? We are in laredo border town with Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and would love to meet you.

    • I think we will be going through south Texas, not sure if we’re crossing at Nuevo Laredo though, but I’ll keep your contact info in case we go through there! Thanks for the invite.

  5. Hey guys! Just found out this website, and I just can’t stop reading it! This adventure is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I see you are going to Ecuador, and it’s capital Quito… You might want to check out the Amazon part of the country, THE BEST! Research about the Yasuní Reserve, I hear it’s one of the most plant-and-animal dense patch on the planet.. And please, come to Guayaquil, beautiful portuary city :D Email me if you need anything if you decide to come here :D
    Have a wonderful trip!

    • Awesome! Thanks so much for you information and help. We definitely want to visit Quito. We’ll keep your information.

  6. I love your page. If you ever come to New Zealand please come and vist. We have a safe country and beaches for children, lots of fishing etc and camping

What our readers have to say…

I read your blog and almost cried. I am going to start traveling this summer and recently I have had a lot of fears come up about all the 'what ifs' - money, my age, etc. I was feeling particularly vulnerable this morning when the link from your web site came across my e-mail. When I watched your video and read a few sections in your blog I am convinced that this was a sign, you are a Godsend, and I am really excited. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep up your amazing work and life.
The desire of my heart is to be doing what you are doing. So I guess you could say I am living vicariously through you.
I love your appreciation and genuine interest in other cultures. I am always looking forward to reading your next post.
[I read] because you're an EXPERT in the area I'm most interested in. Living the dream.
I read to see it is possible. However, my husband is still convinced we can't do it, that you must be special... So I continue to read and follow, hoping for something to click for our family to also travel the world.
I enjoy reading your blog because you share the spirit of adventure that not too many people are brave enough to follow... I like to see how resilient you and your family are during the lows that would send most people packing home. My family and I get out a lot and explore but like to live vicariously through your experiences. Thanks and we will keep following along.
